1. 2023 Engagement Summit, March 2nd, LEARN MORE & flyers attached

All students from across Purdue’s campuses are invited to showcase community engagement projects as part of service-learning courses or engagement organizations at the Engagement and Service-Learning Summit on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 4:00-5:30 PM (EST) at the Discovery Learning Research Center in West Lafayette, IN. The goal of the session is to showcase student efforts with faculty, community partners, and other students rather than judge them.

Submissions will be accepted in one of two formats:
  • Poster: Students will create a wide-format printed poster that explains their project and its impact on themselves and the community. Students will present their posters in person during the Showcase.
  • Digital Story: Students will create a video (max length 3 minutes) using images, background music, and an accompanying voice-over that illustrates their project and its impact. Digital stories will be on display during the Showcase for attendees to view at their leisure.
Students may re-use a poster or digital story from a previous event or develop a new one. All accepted submissions will be showcased both in person and on the event website. The top three submissions will be awarded cash prizes of $150, $100, and $50, respectively. A student must be the first author of the presentation to be eligible for a prize. Learn more about the event on the Summit website. Learn more about the Showcase including presentation guidelines, examples, and award rubrics on the Showcase info site. Interested students or student teams should first register for the Summit and submit a brief abstract (max 150 words) by Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 5:00 PM (EST) via the Summit website.
