RA position in Signal Processing of Seismic Array Data for Summer & Fall of 2021 & Part Time Spring 2021

To interested MS students,

An RA position is available for the summer and fall of 2021, with some part time work during the spring of 2021, to work on signal analysis of seismic waves for a seismic array located west of Purdue.

The RA involves analyzing signals from wind turbines, car traffic, trains and distant earthquakes recorded on a regional seismic array to the study the crustal structure beneath the array using recent techniques in seismic imaging and interferometry.  Also, ML convolutional neural networks are being investigated to extend a smaller seismic array to a larger virtual array for seismic imaging.

A course background in signals and systems, Fourier analysis, and digital signal processing is required.
