Opportunities in Taiwan (TSMC) for graduate students
Title/Function: Data Scientist/Engineer of AI Application and Integration Division / TSMC Information Technology
Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan
Roles and Responsibilities
========================================
- Design and implement machine learning algorithms that support company R&D/Fab/business functions to improve the productivity and quality of work.
- Join Machine Learning projects to co-work with user team from ML problem formulation, modeling to error analysis based on modeling result. Be able to perform data analysis through ML techniques, including various data types, such as: numeric, text and images and communicate with domain users for ML findings.
- Communicate ML solution development and maintenance with application team.
Key Areas of Responsibility
========================================
ML solution development and strategy implementation for manufacturing processes improvement:
- Perform data scientist role from data collection, data exploration to feature engineering to model evaluation and error analysis capabilities.
- Perform the judgement of whether the business problems can be solved through Machine Learning and communicate the result with domain users for model explanation or error analysis.
- Perform model lifecycle management and keep the model’s validity in production.
Qualifications:
========================================
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics and Math related fields and ML project experience.
- Semiconductor or manufacturing experience is a plus.
Languages:
========================================
Fluent in both Mandarin and English
Key Experience:
========================================
- Experiences in working large cross-functional efforts in a matrix organization is a plus
- Proven communication and personal skills with all levels of internal/external, technical/non-technical customers/users.
Personal Attributes:

- Love working with complex data, be passionate about finding the insights (and tell a meaningful story) based on the data.
- Be confident to present your findings to all levels of the organization, including peers, senior management and internal customers.
