Secretary V, West Lafayette - Electrical and Computer Engineering( 1500441)

Description

Provide secretarial service, including typing, word processing, copying, filing, record keeping, arranging meetings and conferences, answering phone, and sorting and distributing mail, for about 10-15 professors to support the teaching mission of the department through the use of computers in different platforms (such as UNIX, Mac, and Windows). Also, provide support to faculty efforts in journal editing, production of manuscripts, proposals and other technical materials.

Qualifications

Required:

High school diploma or GED.

Three years secretarial/ clerical experience in a fast-paced environment.

Strong oral and professional written communication skills, including, drafting, proofreading and editing correspondence and reports.

Excellent customer service skills and professionalism to interact with a diverse group of applicants, staff, administration, and faculty.

Exceptional organizational and time/project management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to work with interruptions, multiple and varied tasks while handling confidential information with discretion.

Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology.

Ability to analyze and interpret University policies and procedures.

Proficiency in software: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook / Electronic email, and Calendar.

Preferred:

Blackboard, Ariba, and Concur experience.

Event coordination experience.
