Richard Korsmeyer Selected for AIChE's Evans Award

Purdue Chemical Engineering alumnus Richard Korsmeyer, MSChE '80, PhD '83, will receive AIChE's 2016 Lawrence B. Evans Award in Chemical Engineering Practice.

Purdue Chemical Engineering alumnus Richard Korsmeyer (MSChE '80, PhD '83) will be honored by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) with the 2016 Lawrence B. Evans Award in Chemical Engineering Practice during the honors ceremony at this year's annual meeting in San Francisco.

The Evans Award recognizes an individual for substantial lifetime achievement in one or more aspects of industrial chemical engineering practice, including: management, leadership, research, publications, technology development, patents, engineering and construction, process operations and supply-chain management, sales and marketing, design, manufacturing, economic analysis, planning, business development, and entrepreneurship. It includes a plaque, $3,000, and a travel allowance.

Korsmeyer is a Senior Research Fellow and Head of External Technology & Collaborations, PTx PS Technology and Innovation at Pfizer, Inc. He is the recipient of a 2014 Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award from Purdue's College of Engineering and a 2014 Outstanding Chemical Engineer Award from the School of Chemical Engineering.
