George Perkins, BSChE ’37, PhD ’40, is a member of the CEO Advisory Board of The Healing Place, a nationally and internationally recognized treatment facility for homeless abusers of alcohol and other drugs, and Founding Board Member of the recently incorporated Faith Partners for Recovery based in Louisville, KY.
John (Jack) Roorda, BSChE ’43, PhD ’49, retired in 1983 as Vice-President Planning and Economics, from shell Oil Company. He now does free-lance volunteer work with a charity, taking care of their books and accounting
John R. Nye, BSChE ’51, is the President of Dane Company.
Henry T. Sampson, BSChE ’56, on May 8 received the 2009 Alumni Awards for Disguised Service from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he completed his PhD in 1967.
Jack B. ReVelle, BSChE ’57, is currently a Consulting Statistician with ReVelle Solutions, LLC. He co-authored Home Builder's Guide to Continuous Improvement: Schedule, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Cost, and Safety, which will be released in October this year by CRC Press.
Roy E. Hofer, BS'57, has been named an “Illinois Super Lawyer” for 2009 by /Law & Politics/ magazine. He is a partner in the intellectual property law firm Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, Chicago. Please click here to view Hofer News Release
James Peery, ChE 1962, retired from Exxon in 1999. He is currently president of Active Retired Executives, an organization for senior executives of the oil industry, in Houston, TX.
Dwight Rust, BSChE ’63, has retired from Ashland Performance Materials in July 2007 as the Global Business Development Manager for the Composites Business. He has formed DARCO Consulting, Inc.
John Hosmer, BSChE, MS ’63, retired in December 2008 from Constellation Energy as Chief Nuclear Officier for UniStar.
Jerry Fawbush, BSChE ’65, retired from Central Soya Inc. after 35 years in 2003. He now has an engineering consulting company - Fawbush Enterprises Inc.
Robert Nagy, BSChE ’65, finished his service on two Boards of Directors in 2008 but is continuing his part time consulting with Collins Consulting.
Joseph Alford, BSChE ’66, was selected to be a member of the Science Advisory Board of the National Science Foundation sponsored "Engineering Research Center on Structured Organic Particulate Systems." He has also been elected Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). He is now a fellow of two different technical societies AIChE and ISA (Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation society, soon to be International Society of Automation). Dr. Alford is currently the Head of Joseph S. Alford, LLC, Automation Consulting Services and was previously and Engineering Advisor, Eli Lilly and Co., (retired in 2006 after 35 years). Election to Fellow grade in AIChE requires the individual to be in chemical engineering practice for a minimum of twenty-five years, and is awarded in recognition of professional attainment, and significant accomplishments in engineering.
David Boles, BS ChE ’66 is a Sr. Product Engineer with Owens Corning.
Gary Kirsch, BS ChE 1966, has been with National Oilwell Varco for 10 years where he is currently Director of Technical Sales for the Pressure Control Group. He is also a member of the 25-Year Club of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the American Association of Drilling Engineers (AADE), and a former President of the National Oil Equipment Manufacturers and Delegates Society (NOMADS).

Robert J. Tylicki, BSChE ’68, is a Senior Chemical/Mechanical Engineer for C&I Engineering Inc. in Louisville, KY.
Leonard Bernstein, PhD, 1969, closed his climate change consulting business, L.S. Bernstein & Associates, at the end of 2008. He was recently honored as a Distinguished Alumnus of the University of Florida’s School of Engineering, where he had received his BSChE in 1962. Previously he had been recognized for his contributions to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which received the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.
A. Robert Winslow, BSChE ’69, retired in December 2008 after 24 years with the Weyerhaeuse Company.
Larry A. Baker, BSChE ’70, in mid 2008 retired from Ashland, Inc in Dublin, Ohio having held roles of Vice President of the Composite Polymer Division, Vice President of the Global Supply Chain and as Vice President of Engineering. Upon retirement from Ashland, he began his consulting business, DenAlan Consulting, LLC.
Surendra Gupta, PhD ’72, retired from BP on April 1, 2009 after about 36 years of service. His last role at BP was Global Learning and Development Manager for Reservior & Petroleum Engineering and Petrophysics Disciplines in Exploration & Production.
Michael E. Reed, BSChE '72 is currently the General Manager, Battery Division with Magna International. He is leading their project to manufacture automotive lithium ion batteries in North America.
Daniel M. Sobieski, BSChE ’72, was recently appointed Executive Vice President Consulting Services for O’Brien’s Response Management, an all-risk emergency management consulting firm.
Thomas Riggs, BSChE ’73, is currently the President for WinMedStat, Inc., Plano, TX.
Raymond Carlston, BSChE ’73, retired from service as an Assistant State Attorney (felony prosecutor) in Jacksonville, Florida in August 2008. He is currently serving as the Command Legal Counsel, Naval Hospital, Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida.
Ronald Wright, BSChE’72, MS ‘73 retired in May 2009 from the GD Fuels Coordinator position with Chevron, after 32 years with the company.
Norm Gilsdorf, BSChE ’77, has been promoted to President, Honeywell Process Solutions in November, 2008. He is now based in Bracknell, UK.
Deborah Grubbe, BSChE '77, has opened her own operations and safety consulting business, and is new President of Operations and Safety Solutions, LLC. Formerly an executive with BP and DuPont, Deborah continues to serve on the NASA Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel.
George L. Ott, PhD '78, is currently the Program Manager for Pipelines with BP America.
Paul Fithian, BSChE ’80, is the cofounder of Lighthouse Industries, an ISO 9001 Registered injection molding and tooling company. He just completed a term on Purdue’s TAP Advisory Council.
Charles E. Smith, BSChE ’80, is currently the President & CEO for CountryMark, Indianapolis, IN.
Joe Zmich, BSChE ’80, is currently a Senior Manager in the Technical Service Department with UOP LLC.
Sharron Hunter-Rainey, BSChE ’83, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Business at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) in Durham, NC. During the 2008-09 academic year, she was the undergraduate students' choice as the Most Influential Faculty Member in the School of Business and received one of three NCCU Excellence in Teaching awards.
Patrick Mosher, BSChE ’83, celebrated 21 years with Accenture in June 2009. He is currently a partner in charge of the Global Lead for Workforce Solutions
William Pottratz, BSChE ’83, was promoted to Deputy of the Army Aviation and Missile Command Safety Office, Huntsville, AL in December 2008.
Brian J. Warnock, BSChE ‘84, is the Senior Vice President, Acquisitions & Financial Analysis with the Simon Property Group.

David A. Rockstraw, BS ’86, is currently a Professor of Chemical Engineering at New Mexico State University. He also operates Rockstraw Consulting. Dr. Rockstraw is the recipient of the 2009 National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE)/ Professional Engineers in Higher Education (PEHE) / Sustaining University Program (SUP) /Engineering Education Excellence Award.
Michael G. Locklar, ChE’87, was named partner in the intellectual property practice group at Jackson Walker LLP, Houston, TX.
Michael Whitt, BSChE ’87, is currently the Engineering Chair at the Miami Dade College, FL.
Antonios Mikos, PhD ‘88, is part of a team that has been asked to create a putty-like wonder material that can be packed around broken bones on the battlefield to reduce complications from compound fractures. Mikos said, "We are extremely excited to participate in this highly collaborative project, which seeks to develop a novel material to treat, stabilize and heal highly complicated bone fractures, such as those commonly created through blast injuries to our troops. The technology to be explored through this research presents the potential to revolutionize the treatment of bone fractures both in civilian clinics and on the battlefield."

Phillip K. Zeller, BSChE ’89, is a Senior Engineer with DuPont. In April of 2009, he assumed the role of Process Safety Management (PSM) Leader for the DuPont Washington Works Facility in Washington, WV.
Pedro Arce, PhD ’90, received the 2008 Quality Enhancement Productivity Award (QEP) of the Tennessee Technological University for his efforts in developing and implementing "High Performance Learning Environment, Hi-PeLE" and the 2009 " International Exemplary Award" from the Chair Academy for his successful efforts in rebuilding the Chemical Engineering Department at Tennessee Tech University.
Majella Stevenson, BSChE ’90, returned from a six month deployment in the Middle East, for which he was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal. He also received a volunteer service award from Area Support Group Qatar. He completed an Executive Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Indiana University. His current position is Public Works Officer, Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility.
Amie Best, BSChE ’91, graduated from Marquette University in December 2008 with an Executive Masters of Business degree, including a specialization in International Business. Her current position is Marketing Associate, Home Cleaners - North America Consumer Products at SC Johnson in Racine, WI.
Salman Adil, BSChE ’92, in February 2009 accepted the position of Vice President of Operations for Blue Sun Energy - a renewable energy company based in Colorado.
Thomas Chambers, BSChE ’92, is a manager, Flow Coordination (Scheduling and Logisics) with Novozymes North America.
Kenneth K. Harris, BSChE ’92, completed second mobilization tour as Executive Officer of 1/411th (LS) Regt as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom in March 2009. He received a second Campaign Star for Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Army Commendation Medal for Achievement in May 2008. He is currently enrolled in the University of Phoenix, Arizona, earning a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction
Joshua Rockhold, BSChE ’94, has been promoted in November 2008 to Director, Delivery & Distribution at Harland Clarke Corp., San Antonio, TX
Christopher L. Selby, BSChE ’95, is a Program Manager, Minor Capital and Energy, The Kroger Co. He recently obtained the Certified Energy Manager designation from the Association of Energy Engineers.
Carrolette Winstead, BSChE ’95, is currently a Manager at the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. She recently co-authored "In Situ Remediation of Perchlorate in Groundwater." (I am still waiting on details about this paper).

Dennis M. Sopka, BSChE 2000, graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine in May 2008 and completed his Transitional Internship at Lehigh Valley Health Network, in Allentown, PA. He is now a 2nd year resident in Radiation Oncology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center, in Philadelphia, PA.
Abid Ansari, BSChE ‘2001, has been promoted in November 2008 to the Senior Manager, Portfolio Management position with MedImmune, an AstraZeneca subsidiary. He received his CPA certiciation in January 2009 and the Director's award for statistical/financial work performed related to Reverse Genetics.
Ozgur Yildirim, Ph.D. 2001, is currently a Senior Computational Modeler at Intellectual Ventures in Bellevue, WA.
Paul Chestovich, BSChE 2002, went from Purdue to IU School of Medicine and graduated with an MD in 2006. Since then he has been a resident in General Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Nicolle Orillo, BSChE 2002, is a 2009 Acumen Fund Fellow with the Acumen Fund, a non-profit global venture fund that uses entrepreneurial approaches to solve the problems of global poverty.
Wendy Wiker, BSChE 2002, was promoted to Lean Master for Grace Construction Products, Americas in February 2009.
Susan Hall, BSChE 2004, was promoted in March 2009 to Senior Engineer in Packaging Development with General Mills.
Kevin Roche, BS,ChE 2004, in July 2009 changed his Process Control Engineering position with Eli Lilly for a term in the Peace Corps. He is going to teach 7th-10th grade physics in Guinea.
