David Pershing (BSChE 1970) named President of the University of Utah
David Pershing, BSChE 1970, has been named President of the University of Utah.
He joined the University of Utah as an Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering in 1977. He was named a Presidential Young Investigator by the National Science Foundation in 1984 and became Dean of the College of Engineering in 1987. He has served as the University of Utah senior vice president for Academic Affairs since 1998. He was named Engineering Educator of the Year by the Utah Engineering Council in 2002 and is a winner of the Governor’s Medal for Science and Technology.
David Pershing received an Outstanding Chemical Engineer Award from the School of Chemical Engineering and a Distinguished Engineering Alumnus Award from the College of Engineering in 1999.
