Alumnus Terry Papoutsakis Receives D.I.C. Wang Award for Excellence in Biochemical Engineering, AIChE, 2013

Terry Papoutsakis (MS ’77, PhD ’80), is the recipient of AIChE’s 2013 D.I.C. Wang Award for Excellence in Biochemical Engineering.

Terry Papoutsakis (MS ’77, PhD ’80), is the recipient of AIChE’s 2013 D.I.C. Wang Award for Excellence in Biochemical Engineering.  Dr. Papoutsakis will receive the award and speak at the Hilton Union Square hotel, San Francisco, on Monday, November 4th, 6:00-7:00 PM, Grand Ballroom A.

Dr. Papoutsakis is the Eugene DuPont Chair in the Chemical Engineering Department and the Delaware Biotechnology Institute at the University of Delaware. His research focuses on areas of systems biology, metabolic engineering, experimental and computational genomics with applications in stem-cell biology and prokaryotic biology for the production of biofuels and chemicals from biomass.

This award is “presented to a distinguished biochemical engineer and biotechnologist” by the Biochemical Technology Division of the American Chemical Society and by the Food, Pharmaceuticals and Bioengineering Division of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
