2007-08 Undergraduate Student Awards

Stephen Craig Award

The Stephen Craig Award was established to recognize an outstanding junior in the School of Chemical Engineering.

George T. Tsao Award

The George T. Tsao Award in the School of Chemical Engineering at Purdue is awarded to a worthy junior on the basis of scholarship and in consideration of his accomplishments.

John Clarence Lottes Memorial Award

The John Clarence Lottes Memorial Award was established in 1953. This award is given to recognize an outstanding senior in Chemical Engineering.

AIChE Award

The AIChE Award is given to a senior student in the School of Chemical Engineering based on his or her service to the department through AIChE.

Omega Chi Epsilon Award

In 1961 Omega Chi Epsilon established the Outstanding Senior Award to be presented on the basis of scholarship, leadership, and character.

Excellence for Undergraduate Laboratory Assistant

The Undergraduate Award for Teaching Excellence in a laboratory course in Chemical Engineering as voted by the senior students was awarded to:

2008 Senior Design Project

Each year awards are given for the best senior design projects.

Purdue Student Engineering Foundation Outstanding Senior Award

The Purdue Student Engineering Foundation Outstanding Senior Award was created in order to recognize seniors from the Schools of Engineering for their exemplary achievements within the fields of engineering, as well as for their respective School of Engineering, Purdue University, and the Greater Lafayette Community.

2007-08 SWE Awards

Congratulations to our scholarship recipients!

On February 10, 2008, ten chemical engineering students, both undergraduate and graduate, received awards at the 34th annual Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Awards Dinner. The dinner was part of an overall weekend program sponsored by SWE, the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). Eighty students were awarded $65,000 in merit-based scholarships at the event.

Lindsay Williams (right) received the Outstanding Sophomore Award sponsored by the Weldon Foundation. Lindsay was the recipient of the Weldon Foundation Outstanding Freshman Award in 2007.







 

Erica Rice (right) received the Outstanding Junior Award sponsored by General Motors. Erica was the recipient of the Weldon Foundation Outstanding Sophomore Award in 2007.







 

Bich-Van Pham (right) received the Emily M. Wadsworth Graduate Mentoring Award, the only regularly conferred graduate student award.

Corporate awards were given to Yelena Dracheva (Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.), Amy Schuetter (Eli Lilly and Company), Nicole Hinde (Merck & Company, Inc.), Sarah Beigh (Procter & Gamble), Manda Knust (Procter & Gamble) and Yi-Tze (Jeffia) Pan (SC Johnson).

Julie Deck received the Toolin Award, a SWE Activity and Leadership Award.
