Tim Persoons
School of Mechanical Engineering Tim received his B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) in Jun 1996, Jun 1999 and Aug 2006, respectively.
Since Nov 2006, he has been employed as postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Darina B. Murray's fluids and heat transfer lab in Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, while also remaining active in Prof. Martine Baelmans' microscale heat transfer group in K.U.Leuven.
In Aug 2008 and Aug 2010 respectively, Tim has received a Postdoctoral fellowship and INSPIRE-Marie Curie fellowship from the Irish Research Council Science, Engineering and Technology, co-funded by Marie Curie Actions under EU Framework Programme 7.
His current research interests include the experimental investigation of heat transfer in synthetic jets and their application as active cooling strategies in microelectronics cooling, as well as the development and refinement of diagnostic techniques for fluid dynamics and heat transfer research.
