Mercy received her Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and minor in Physics at Norfolk State University in May 2011. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science and is a recipient of the Arrasmith Fellowship award. Under the supervision of Professor Garimella, she is working in the field of droplet-based cooling on superhydrophobic surfaces.
