Harris is a senior in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. Previously he has assisted Professor Marconnet in conducting experiments to investigate the interactions of Foam-Phase Change Materials for the sake of thermal storage. For the Summer 2020 term, he worked under Professor Marconnet to help develop educational tools to explain heat transfer principles to broader audiences. For the 2020-2021 academic year he was involved in designing a testing rig to determine the optimal application of TIM's as well as preparing samples and collecting experimental data for analysis. Currently he is working with Professor Weibel and Professor Marconnet on standardizing a 2D version of the Angstrom Method to characterize the heat transfer resistances for buried solid to solid surfaces. He plans to pursue a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with an incline towards heat transfer upon graduation.
