Prof. Jing Gao, of the ECE department, with expertise in resilience of cyber systems has joined CRISP as affiliate faculty. Dr. Gao's research is in the general area of data and information analysis with a focus on data mining and machine learning.

Dr. Gao comes to Purdue in 2021 from the University of Buffalo, Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

Dr. Gao's research is in the general area of data and information analysis with a focus on data mining and machine learning. Her objective is to develop principled methodologies and systems for automatically processing, managing, analyzing, and summarizing heterogeneous large-scale information sources to solve computationally challenging problems in real-world application domains. In particular, her recent focus is on the discovery of trustworthy information from a large amount of heterogeneous, noisy, complex and distributed data. She is also interested in developing novel data mining and machine learning techniques for emerging data intensive applications, such as health informatics, smart transportation, and educational innovation.
