Accelerating Colombia's economic growth is at the center The Colombia-Purdue Institute's mission. As a result, we are seeking to continually expand our partners with industry leaders in the fields of nanotechnology and biotechnology.
One such example is Empresas Públicas de Medellín, E.S.P. (EPM), whose officials visited Purdue's campus in January 2010. Our EPM guests, along with a representative from the economic development non-profit Ruta N Medellín , were given tours throughout Purdue’s nanotechnology research labs, including the Birck Nanotechnology Center. EPM provides public services such as water and is the second largest Colombian company measured by both income and assets. Ruta N is dedicated to promoting science, technology and innovation to increase the city of Medellín’s competitiveness.
