The Center will host two back-to-back workshops Laser-based manufacturing and Additive manufacturing in September.  Both the workshops will feature various speakers from industry and Purdue, followed by poster sessions and discussion session with optional lab tours.

A workshop on laser direct deposition was held in Fu room on Nov. 10th, 2011 with 35 attendees. The workshop featured speakers from industry and academia.  The theme of the workshop was industrial needs and applications with recent technological developments.

Summer Institute on "Principles of and Recent Advances in Laser Micro/Nano Manufacturing Processes".   This will be held from June 1 to 4, 2010, in Evanston, Illinois.  Please find the details from the short course web site.

Do you want to know more about the laser applications, laser operations and safety issues?  The Center will hold the first laser processing workshop in the future at Purdue University.  The workshop will cover the following topics:

   -   Basic principles of lasers

   -   Principles and design of laser optics

   -   Laser safety

   -   Laser application A (short pulsed)

   -   Laser application B (high power)

For the member companies, participation is free and multiple people can attend it.  If you are interested in attending the workshop, please indicate your interest to Dr. Yung Shin.
