April 2011 - International Journal of Neural Systems publishes "Effect of Stimulus Parameters in the Treatment of Seizures by Electrical Stimulation in the Kainate Animal Model” CID alumna Pooja Rajdev is first author.

July 2010 - The center has been selected by DARPA for negotiation for a potential contract award for it’s work in a “Magnetic Insertion System for Ultra-Thin Neural Electrodes.”

July 2010 - CID graduate student Shriram Raghunathan has been selected as a finalist for the 4th TSMC Outstanding Student Research Award for his work in ultra low-power digital circuits for seizure detection. The ceremony will be on August 20th, 2010.

June 2010 - IEEE Transactions in Biomedical Engineering publishes “Fully Wireless Implantable Cardiovascular Pressure Monitor Integrated with a Medical Stent” CID alumnus Eric Chow is the first author.

July 2010 - Prof. Irazoqui notified of receiving Purdue’s Seed for Success Award for the second year running. This award is for work in “Core Technology Development Plan for Next-Generation Devices in Epilepsy”, sponsored by Cyberonics, Inc.

May 2010 - Frontiers in Neuroengineering publishes “Evolving refractory major depressive disorder diagnostic and treatment paradigms: toward closed-loop therapeutics” CID graduate student Matthew Ward is the first author.

April 2010 - Arthur Chlebowski and Matthew Ward independently win the Magoon Award for Excellence in Graduate Student Teaching.

February 2010 - CID post-doctoral researcher Eric Chow delivers invited talk at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) in San Francisco in February of 2010.

December 2009 - CID graduate student Rajkumar Kubendran wins the AMD Award for Excellence in Circuit Design, 1st place for the fall of 2009. Previously, CID’s Shriram Raghunathan won the same award in the spring of 2008.

June 2009 - CID graduate student Eric Chow wins Best Paper, 3rd place, Microwave Theory and Techniques (MTT) Conference 2009

August 2010 - CID epilepsy research highlighted by Purdue 360. Follow the link at right for videos on the patients that motivate our work, a 40 minute research presentation by Prof. Irazoqui, and a studio question and answer video with mothers from Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy (CURE).

October 2010 - SOLX Inc. of Sudbury MA raises $20.5 M in venture funds from MVM Life Science for glaucoma shunt and continuous IOP monitor. The latter being developed since 2007 at the Center for Implantable Devices.

September 2010 - CID students Eric Chow and Brook Beier present their research at the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

July 2011 - The center has been selected by DARPA for negotiation for a potential contract award for it’s work in a “Improving robustness of prosthetic arm control with an innovative RF-based implantable EMG system.” This work is in collaboration with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
April 2011 - First place in the category of Innovative Technology/Entrepreneurship & Design was awarded to Ian Dryg at the Undergraduate Research Poster Symposium on April 12, 2011 for his poster titled, "Multi-modal flexible neural prosthesis combining optical, chemical, and electrical stimulation."

May 2011 - Journal of Low Power Electronics and Applications publishes "Ultra Low-Power Algorithm Design for Implantable Devices: Application to Epilepsy Prostheses” CID alumnus Shriram Raghunathan is first author.

November 2011 - Robert S. Fischer, M.D., Ph.D. highlights Pooja Rajdev’s April International Journal of Neural Systems paper in “Neurostimulation for Epilepsy: Do We Know the Best Stimulation Parameters?” of the latest issue of the journal Epilepsy Currents, from the American Epilepsy Society.
