Hannibal's Flood Wall Engineer Calls it 'Perfect Timing'

As a civil engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Victor Gervais was in charge of Hannibal’s flood wall construction and witnessed its success during the Great Flood of 1993, shortly after the levee was completed.

Study's projections show climate change to increase commercial Indiana energy consumption, reduce residential use

New projections show climate change could induce a 5 percent increase for the average commercial building’s energy consumption in Indiana by the year 2100, while reducing an average residential home’s energy use by 3.5 percent. Sayanti Mukherjee, a postdoctoral research assistant in the Division of Construction Engineering and Management has co-authored a paper on this subject with Roshanak Nateghi, an assistant professor of Industrial Engineering and Environmental and Ecological Engineering.

Senior Design projects help effort to revitalize Indianapolis neighborhood

Students in Purdue’s Construction Engineering and Management Senior Design course have partnered with Brookside Community Church in Indianapolis to help develop transitional housing for ex-offenders who are re-entering society. This collaboration is a result of a new and improved course format developed by course instructor Brandon Fulk and PhD candidate Kyubyung Kang, which puts real-world projects into the hands of students.
