Warda Ashraf receives 2017 College of Engineering Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award

Warda Ashraf, a PhD Candidate working with Professor Jan Olek in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering, has been named as recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award. This award by the Purdue College of Engineering recognizes an outstanding PhD candidate who has demonstrated excellence in research through peer-reviewed publications, awards for research, leadership, academic achievements and participation in professional societies.

Warda Ashraf, a PhD Candidate working with Professor Jan Olek in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering, has been named as recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award.

This award by the Purdue College of Engineering recognizes an outstanding PhD candidate who has demonstrated excellence in research through peer-reviewed publications, awards for research, leadership, academic achievements and participation in professional societies.

The title of Warda’s PhD dissertation is "Reaction Kinetics, Microstructural Features and Mechanical Properties of CO2 Activated Low-Lime Calcium Silicate Binders." Her research interest includes durability performance of concrete, multiscale characterization and development of sustainable infrastructural materials.
