Call for Posters: Lyles School of Civil Engineering 1st Annual Civil Engineering Graduate Symposium

CEGSAC cordially invites you to attend the Lyles School of Civil Engineering 1st Annual Civil Engineering Graduate Symposium to be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 in the Woods Commons. This event brings together graduate students, faculty, and representatives from the industry and national labs to discuss the innovative research conducted by our department and provides an excellent opportunity to build relationships between our department and the industrial sector. Currently, the tentative attendees of the symposium represent companies including: Sandia National Labs; Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc; Turner Construction; Thornton Tomasetti; HNTB Corporation; Exponent Engineering and Scientific Consulting; Terracon; ARSEE Engineers; and Hayward and Baker. 

The full-day event showcases our department’s research through several poster presentations given by graduate students. These presentations are accompanied by networking breaks, including breakfast and lunch. A majority of these industry representatives are interested in interviewing graduate students for potential positions in their companies. The resumes of poster presenters will thus be printed as booklets and shared with the industry representatives. Finally, the day concludes with awards given to the best poster presentations.

We hope that this symposium will be successful in showcasing the excellent research conducted in our department and foster research collaborations. We look forward to a great event in April!
