Samiul Hasan has been named a recipient of the 2013 Outstanding Research Graduate Student Award, presented by the College of Engineering. This award recognizes excellence in graduate student research. Each School is invited to nominate one PhD student for a research award. The students will be recognized at the Spring Graduate Student Awards luncheon and receive a certificate and a $2000 award.

Eligibility criteria for the award include:

• PhD students in good academic standing who have passed the preliminary exam;
• Has made least one oral or poster presentation at a conference;
• Has at least one (single or co-authored) peer reviewed paper published or accepted for publication. Priority given to papers where the student is the lead author.
