Tariq U. Saeed has been selected as International Road Federation Fellow Class of 2016 for his interest and devotion in making a meaningful difference to the multi-faceted world of transport.

Tariq U. Saeed has been selected as International Road Federation Fellow Class of 2016 for his interest and devotion in making a meaningful difference to the multi-faceted world of transport. Tariq is a Ph.D. student in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering, currently working in the area of Transportation Systems Engineering. He holds an M.S. and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar, Pakistan.

The IRF Fellowship Program is a very competitive and prestigious program. As a Fellow, Tariq will have the opportunity to interact with students from around the world, visit with IRF members who can help to shape his career, and gain exposure to many of the public and private organizations that are active in the road industry. He will also obtain first-hand experience on the tenets of sound leadership principles as he learns from top-level executives about what it takes to become a leader. In the process, he will enhance and advance his aspiration to make a difference in the road industry.

As part of this fellowship, Tariq will also attend The IRF Road Scholar Program in Washington D.C. The Road Scholar Program is an annual multiday leadership and orientation program that brings together the new class of IRF Fellows. The program is designed to enhance Fellows' leadership skills and provide valuable insight into the transportation industry through visits to prominent domestic, regional and international organizations. These typically include the World Bank, Federal Highway Administration, Inter-American Development Bank, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, and Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center.
