Mikhail receives ASCE Surveying and Mapping Award

Professor Emeritus Edward M. Mikhail was selected by the Geomatics Division of ASCE to receive the 2014 Surveying and Mapping Award for his devotion and contributions to the fields of photogrammetry and remote sensing.

Professor Emeritus Edward M. Mikhail was selected by the Geomatics Division of the American Society of Civil Engineers to receive the 2014 Surveying and Mapping Award for his devotion and contributions to the advancement of surveying and mapping, particularly his outstanding leadership in theory, research and teaching in higher education in the fields of photogrammetry and remote sensing.

The award is made annually to the individual who has made a definite contribution during the year to the advancement of surveying and mapping either in teaching, writing, research, planning, design, construction or management, these contributions being made in the form of papers or other written presentations, or in some instances through notable performance, long years of service, or specific actions which have served to advance surveying and mapping.
