Mohamed Yamany, PhD candidate at the Lyles School of Civil Engineering, has been appointed to the Standing Committee on Bridge Management (AHD35) of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), one of seven program units of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.

Mohamed Yamany, PhD candidate at the Lyles School of Civil Engineering, has been appointed to the Standing Committee on Bridge Management (AHD35) of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), one of seven program units of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. The term of appointment is April 15, 2019 to April 14, 2022.

This committee is concerned with the selection and evaluation of cost-effective programmatic optimal strategies for the comprehensive management of bridges and structures. It identifies critical data needs and vulnerability assessments for their effective lifecycle cost analysis and management, and communicates the findings with decision makers to take appropriate actions for the design, construction or maintenance of bridges and other structures.

Mohamed has a Master of Science in underground infrastructure asset management. His current research focuses on highway (pavements, bridges and tunnels) infrastructure asset management. He is a student of Professor Dulcy Abraham.
