Meet Anthony Phan

Name: Anthony Phan

Hometown: Brownsburg, Indiana

Year at Purdue: Senior

Major: Civil Engineering

Favorite part about Purdue: My favorite part of Purdue is being active in student organizations. I have made lifelong connections with friends and have worked hard to make a positive impact on my community.

Why you enjoy being a part of a campus cultural center: I enjoy being a part of the Asian American and Asian Resource and Cultural Center (AAARCC) because they welcome every person that walks through their door. Being a student at Purdue University means being away from my family and my cultural traditions, but with the AAARCC, I have a new family that I can be a part of. Through the AAARCC, I am able to express and appreciate my Asian-American identity. The AAARCC hosts many diverse and cultural events that remind me of home and have allowed me to learn more about other cultures. I have met many of my closest friends at the AAARCC and am excited to continue working with the AAARCC as a student leader of my organization. I'm extremely thankful for all of the meaningful connections that I have made through the AAARCC and the lasting impact that the AAARCC has had on my undergraduate experience.
