Named Professorships in Civil Engineering

The School of Civil Engineering is seeking outstanding applicants for three named professorships. The deadline for applications is November 15, 2008.

The School of Civil Engineering at Purdue University is seeking outstanding applicants with expertise in the field of concrete pavement design and materials science to fill the Concrete Paving Industry Named Professorship. Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or related field and a strong proven record of research and teaching. Candidates must have demonstrated national and international prominence in areas of concrete pavement design and materials science, and will be expected to provide leadership in discovery, learning, and engagement in this field.

The Jack and Kay Hockema Named Professorship and the Charles Pankow Named Professorship are open to all areas of Civil Engineering. Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or related field, and a very strong proven record of research and teaching. Candidates must have demonstrated national and international prominence in their respective areas of expertise, and will be expected to provide leadership in discovery, learning, and engagement within Civil Engineering.

The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills and will lead in the development of a strong externally-funded research program with the existing faculty, and be involved in undergraduate and graduate instruction.
