CE Professors win Acorn Award
Professors James Bethel, Edward Mikhail and Jie Shan have received the 2007 Acorn Award in an effort to recognize their efforts in research at Purdue University. The Acorn Award is provided through a program, established in 2003, that recognizes faculty members who attract large sponsored research grants to Purdue University. It is called "the seed of excellence." It is given to any PI or CO-PI that is awarded 1 million in grants/funding (even if funding is over several years as long as it is a total of 1 million). This information is compiled by Sponsored Program Services, verified with the various business offices for funding, and once verified, and PI/CO-PI's are invited to the lunch with the Provost. Each award recipient receives a bronze acorn in which his name is engraved.
We congratulate our Professors on their award!
