Congratulations to Prof. Vince Drnevich on being named an ASCE Distinguished Member. ASCE only awards this honorary status to 8-10 people per year and is limited to 1 distinguished member per 7500 ASCE members.

CE Professor, other experts to assess Haiti earthquake damage

Prof. Ayhan Irfanoglu is among a contingent of experts traveling to Haiti on Feb. 28 to assess building damage and gather data to help determine how to build structures in the future that are better able to withstand powerful earthquakes.

CE Alumnus Appointed as IDOT Director of Highways

Effective November 1, 2009, Mr. William R. Frey (BSCE '84) was appointed as the Illinois Department of Transportation's Deputy Director, Assistant Chief Engineer, Division of Highways.
