Excimer Lamp Reactor

As the camera focuses in on the reactor, electronic "filaments" become evident in the image. These filaments illustrate areas of local excimer gas excitation by the high electrical potential that is passed between the internal electrode and the ground electrode; in this reactor, the water actually functions as the ground electrode. Water in the reactor follows a spiral path, dictated by the spiral baffle that winds around the internal electrode. The camera then pans up the reactor, more or less following the direction of water flow through the reactor. Treated water exits the reactor near the top, having resided in the irradiated zone for only a few seconds.
