Meredith Ziliak, PULSe, joined lab in 2022

Meredith works on better understanding how stressors affect the central auditory system and processing. While collaborating with the IU School of Medicine to demonstrate the importance of mental imagery as a tool for surgical skill acquisition, she received her Neuroscience, B.S. and Spanish minor from Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI). She then accepted a fellowship to study at Purdue University in the interdisciplinary life sciences (PULSe) graduate program where she joined Bartlett’s CAP lab. She’s currently a second year PhD student and is studying the effects of aging, damage, and environmental stress on the central auditory system. Outside of the lab, she’s swing dancing at Purdue Night Train Swing Club, traveling, or playing board games with friends. 

 

Audrey Harrison, Biology, joined lab in 2021

Audrey is a current undergraduate student studying Neurobiology and Physiology. She joined the lab in fall 2021 with a passion for learning about the effects of aging on the auditory system. Her prior experience playing instruments as well as building theater sets have been a surprising asset to the creation of laboratory experiments. Audrey is currently assisting the lab in running the lab’s Galactose aging experiment as well as Sound Exposure, and in the summer of 2022 participated in Purdue’s Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF). After undergrad she hopes to pursue a M.D. in geriatric medicine. In her free time Audrey teaches dance for the Lafayette YWCA and plays sand volleyball.
