Vijay Kumar Elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences

Congratulations to C-BRIC researcher Vijay Kumar. Kumar was elected a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Kumar was selected for this honor in the area of Engineering and Technology within the Mathematical and Physical Science classification.

Kumar is the Nemirovsky Family Dean of Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. He holds positions in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics, Computer and Information Science, and Electrical and Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a faculty researcher in the Center for Brain-Inspired Computing (C-BRIC) in the area of self-flying drones and visual analytics. Kumar is a fellow of ASME and IEEE and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Students he has advised, who have received many best paper awards, have become leaders in teaching, research, business, and entrepreneurship.
