Kumar Named National Academy of Inventors Fellow
Congratulations to C-BRIC researcher Vijay Kumar of the University of Pennsylvania! Professor Kumar was named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). Kumar is the Nemirovsky Family Dean of the University of Pennsylvania Engineering. His research work focuses on creating autonomous ground and aerial robots, designing bio-inspired algorithms for collective behaviors, and on robot swarms.
The NAI is an international organization that recognizes and encourages "inventors with patents issued from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, enhance[s] the visibility of academic technology and innovation, encourage[s] the disclosure of intellectual property, educate[s] and mentor[s] innovative students, and translate[s] the inventions of its members to benefit society."
