Neuroengineering and Neurotechnology

The Neuroengineering and Neurotechnology research area fills a natural need that has arisen from the influx of outstanding new biomedical engineering faculty with research aims in neuroscience, alongside the development of the research aims of established faculty and large cross-campus initiatives such as the Purdue Institute for Integrative Neuroscience and the Center for Implantable Devices. The neuroengineering and neurotechnology fields have been integral to advances in biomedical research, such as multielectrode stimulation and recording, development of cellular and brainwide imaging and stimulation technologies, and diagnosing and treating pathologies such as addiction, Alzheimer’s, or hearing loss.
