In the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), medical devices connect wirelessly over the internet to personal computing devices and larger-scale health care IT systems, enabling remote personal monitoring of patients. Purdue IE’s Ramses Martinez is developing epidermal, wearable sensors to help do this more inexpensively.

Purdue innovators receive $1.3 million from Department of Defense for research on traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s

The Purdue team, including Dr. Riyi Shi and innovators from several disciplines across the university, received a $1.3 million grant from the Department of Defense for their work developing biomarkers and identifying new targets for phagocytic function of microglial cells, immune cells in the brain, in the context of brain injury-related Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia.
