Biomedical Engineering Graduate Plans of Study

1. MSBME Degree Plan of Study

All MSBME candidates must complete an MSBME Plan of Study (MS Plan of Study form) by the end of the first semester of their enrollment in the program. The Plan of Study should include a preliminary title of the student's thesis, the student's thesis committee, and the titles and designated numbers of the courses (21 credit hours) that the student intends to undertake for the completion of his/her degree.

The thesis committee should consist of at least three faculty members (of which at least two must be BME faculty members from the list on the BME website).

The courses in the MSBME plan of study must be consistent with the School requirements for graduation. Please see the Requirements page. If interested in transferring graduate courses from another university, please see the Transfer Courses page.

2. BME PhD Degree Plan of Study

For doctoral candidates, a PhD plan of study (PhD Plan of Study form) must be submitted for approval by November of the second year in the program. The Plan of Study should include a preliminary title of the student's thesis, the student's PhD thesis committee, and the titles and designated numbers of the courses that the student intends to undertake for the completion of his/her degree.

The PhD thesis committee should consist of at least three approved BME faculty members (from the list on the BME website) plus at least one approved faculty member without any formal affiliation to the BME School.
