The seminar is hosted by the NIH Targeted Delivery Interest Group (TDIG). TDIG is an NIH multi-institutional team that champions targeted delivery of therapeutics to different organs for selective and effective treatments with reduced harmful effects. The group aims to identify gaps and opportunities to advance basic, translational, and clinical research for multiple delivery platforms applicable for the treatment of multiple diseases including autoimmunity, transplantation, cancers, neurodegeneration, cardiovascular diseases, and infectious diseases.

Kinam Park, PhD, is the Showalter Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Professor of Pharmacy at Purdue University. He has studied controlled drug delivery systems for four decades, with a recent focus on understanding the mechanisms of drug release from long-acting injectable formulations. He is the founder of Akina, Inc., specializing in specialty PLG polymers and new biodegradable plastics.

The TDIG monthly webinar series will facilitate ideas exchanges and collaborations among academia, pharma, government, and the regulator communities.
