Location: MJIS 1001, WL campus
Priority: No
School or Program: Biomedical Engineering
This week's seminar will be a panel presentation by engineers and scientists from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) Neurotech Initiative. The presentation will be at 9:30 a.m. in MJIS 1001 on the West Lafayette campus.

Seminar Presenters:

  • Shankar Sundaram, Director, Center for Bioengineering
  • Monica Moya, Principle investigator for LLNL Bioprinting Initiative
  • Vanessa Tolosa, Principal Investigator for LLNL Neural Tech Initiative
  • Alan Kaplan, Principle Investigator for LLNL Data Science/Computational Bioengineering Initiative

The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory invests in a broad range of science, technology, and engineering, with focus shifting as adjustments are made in the Laboratory's missions and as new, game-changing breakthroughs are made in mission-relevant science, technology and engineering. Several areas, identified as Director’s Initiatives, are the focus of special attention to enhance or create new core competencies to meet emerging mission needs. These areas include: Bioengineering, Data Science and Accelerated Materials and Manufacturing, all of which are relevant to the Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering fields. This talk will provide an introduction to LLNL and individual investigators will introduce their work in areas of 3D Bioprinting, Neural Tech, and Data Science and Computational Bioengineering.
