Special BME Seminar - Thurs., Sept. 4

Event Date: September 4, 2014
Hosted By: Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and Indiana Bioengineering Interdisciplinary Training for Diabetes Research Program (NIH T32)
Time: 10:30 a.m.
Location: MJIS 2001, WL campus
Priority: No
Rafael de Cabo, PhD, is Senior Investigator and Acting Chief of the Translational Gerontology Branch, National Institute on Aging (NIH). His seminar is entitled "Health Benefits of Resveratrol from Mice to Monkeys."

Bio: Dr. Rafael de Cabo's research has focused on the physiological and tissue-specific molecular mechanisms for the effects of caloric restriction on aging, and pharmacological interventions that act on these pathways. Research within his unit strives to identify protective mechanisms invoked by caloric restriction and to evaluate the consequences of dietary interventions on lifespan, pathology, and behavioral function including diabetes.

This seminar is sponsored in part by the Indiana Bioengineering Interdisciplinary Training for Diabetes Research Program (NIH T32)

To schedule a time to speak with Dr. de Cabo please contact Cindy Ferguson (fergusoc@purdue.edu)
