Marcia Pool Selected as Patricia I. Horner Outstanding Chapter Advisor for AEMB
AEMB's main goals are to promote the understanding of the profession as well as recognize the excellence within the field. In addition, the purpose of AEMB is to bring into closer union and to mark in an outstanding manner those biomedical engineers who have manifested a deep interest and market ability in their chosen life work so as to promote an understanding of their profession and to develop its members professionally.
In her nomination, Dr. Pool was cited for her guidance through the club's initial organization, and the programs they have since developed. The group currently has three core committees: internal affairs, personal development, and community outreach. She has actively supported AEMB's activities, including a Winter Ball, outreach activities with elementary schools around the state, and participation at BMES conferences. Her open door policy, coupled with her commitment to student mentoring was a deciding factor in her selection for this award.
Congratulations!
