Four BME graduate students were recently selected to receive Joe Bourland Travel Grants.

Dr. Bourland established this award to provide support on a competitive basis to graduate students in need of funds to support their travel to a conference as part of their graduate studies.  Students benefit tremendously from attending conferences and presenting their work to peers and experts in their field.  Conferences also present an ideal networking opportunity for students to explore research collaborations, potential employment and broaden their knowledge base. This year's recipients include:

Trisha Eustaquio - attending the SPIE NanoScience and Engineering meeting in San Diego, CA

Andrew Koivuniemi - attending the IEEE-Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society Conference in Boston, MA

Cal Rabang - attending the Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.

Yamini Venkataraman - attending the Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.

Additional congratulations go to Trisha Eustaquio for winning the "Best Paper" award at the Purdue University Nano-Bio Symposium in September.
