Brian Ward, a recent Chemical Engineering graduate currently enrolled in BME's MD/PhD program, has been selected as an outstanding undergraduate researcher. He will receive a certificate, stipend, registration and travel expenses to the BMES Fall Meeting, to be held October 13-16, 2004, in Philadelphia, PA.
Brian has been conducting undergraduate research in Professor Tom Webster's lab in conjunction with BME graduate student Grace Park. The research is investigating the effect of substrate topography on chondrocyte adhesion and migration. Brian is a Purdue University President Beering Scholar, and started work this fall toward his MD degree from Indiana University and Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Purdue.
