Two BME Students Finalists for Chorafas Award

Two BME graduate students, Alaina Pizzo and Yanan Zheng, were named finalists in the 2005 Dimitris N. Chorafas Foundation Award competition.

A total of ten Purdue graduate students were nominated for the award this year, including Zun Chen (MSE), Loren Garrison (AAE), Arijit Raychowdhury (ECE), Basit Shafiz (ECE), Sybil Sharvelle (CE/Environmental), Akiner Tuzaner (IE), Sonu Sam Varghese (ME) and Shijun Xiao (ECE).

32 prizes were awarded this year, representing 27 universities worldwide. The universities represented five North American, two Japanese, two Israeli, and nine European universities in seven countries.

The winner will be named at an ice cream social hosted by Purdue's College of Engineering Office for Research and Entrepreneurship on August 19, 2005.
