Aaron Kyle Recipient of Fearnot Prize

Aaron Kyle was awarded the 2005 Fearnot Prize from the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering.

The Fearnot Prize was established by Neal Fearnot, currently President of Med Institute, Inc., in 1992 to reward the student giving the most outstanding summer seminar presentation. Dr. Fearnot felt that the experience he gained as a student presenting at the summer seminar series was extremely valuable. He established the prize to encourage students to participate and practice their presentations skills in a friendly enviroment. An important part of the seminar series is the feedback students receive from faculty, staff, and fellow students.

Aaron Kyle, this year's recipient, is originally from Omaha, Nebraska. He received his BSEE from Kettering University (Flint, MI) in 2002. He is midway through his fourth year of Ph.D. research under Professor George Wodicka. In his spare time he is the webmaster for Purdue's Black Graduate Association, and has served as a TA for BME 595C/EE522, "Problems in the Measurement of Physiological Events," and BME 305, "Bioinstrumentation for Undergraduates."

Aaron was selected to receive the Fearnot Prize on the basis of the evaluations received from the BME students, faculty and staff attending the seminars.
