Prof. Mario Svirsky Elected to AIMBE College of Fellows

The number of individuals granted membership in the AIMBE College of Fellows is limited to 2% of the total number of individuals active in medical and biological engineering. It is the highest status attainable in AIMBE. Fellows are recognized by AIMBE as persons who have uniquely distinguished themselves in the field. Prof. Svirskys citation for election is: "For his contribution to understanding speech perception, speech production and language development in cochlear implant users."
Other Purdue BME faculty who will be inducted at the January 2004 ceremony include Professors Charles Bouman, John Nyenhuis and Paul Robinson.
