Elizabeth Trybula, Cibin Raj, Jennifer Burks, Indrajeet Chaubey, Sylvie Brouder, and Jeff Volenec earned the 3rd Place prize at the 2011 ESE Symposium Poster Competition in November. Their poster was entitled, "Parameterization of Perennial Bioenergy Feedstock Grasses Miscanthus x giganteus and Upland Shawnee Switchgrass Cultivar in the SWAT Model Using a Multi-Disciplinary Approach. In addition to ABE, Ecological Sciences and Engineering, Agronomy, Political Science, and Earth and Atmospheric Science were represented on this multidisciplinary team. Congratulations!

Jing Liu has received an A.H. Ismail Interdisciplinary Program Doctoral Research Travel Award. He will be attending the Single Molecule Approaches to Biology Conference.

Professors Ladisch and Mosier  were co-investigators in the Biomass Refining Consortium for Applied Fundamentals and Innovation (CAFI), a multi-institutional team working on technology for cellulosic biofuel production.  The CAFI team jointly published 8 papers in a special issue of Bioresource Technology (Issue 102 Volume 24).
