Professor John Lumkes receives Inaugural Global Engineering Impact Award

Dr. John Lumkes has been selected to receive the first Global Engineering Program "Global Engineering Impact Award." The award is granted in recognition of his commitment to providing global learning opportunities for Purdue College of Engineering students, his leadership in the development of partnerships and programs with global impact, and his demonstration of campus-wide, national, and global engagement.

In Florida, US Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack headed the “Top 100 People in Bioenergy” as voted by the readers of Biofuels Digest and the Digest’s editorial board, just edging out BP Biofuels chief Philip New, and the heads of Raizen, POET, Solazyme and Amyris.

Porterfield in New Class Elected to Medical and Biological Engineering Elite

Washington, DC– The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) has recently announced the election of 107 members to the College of Fellows. The inductees, who were nominated by their peers, were screened by committees of Fellows within their specialty and were finally elected by the full College as the official Class of 2012.
