ABE Welcome Back Picnic

Event Date: September 1, 2011
ADM treated us to fantastic Shoup's barbecue last night as we welcomed our undergraduate students back to campus.

Held at the site of the new ADM Agriculture Innovation Center, the fall picnic is a much-anticipated yearly tradition. Companies donating items for the students included:  ADM, CNH, Caterpillar, Cline Grain, Eaton, Kellogg, Kraft, Eli Lilly, Monsanto, Parker Hannifin, and Reynolds Farm Equipment. The students took home tee-shirts, hats, pens, hand sanitizer, reusable shopping bags, chocolate bars, lip balm, drink mix, picture frames...

The dinner was delicious, catered by Shoup's Country catering. The weather didn't exactly cooperate - it was about 98 degrees - but there was a breeze from time to time. Shuttle buses ran on a 15-minute loop to get people to and from the ABE Building and Materials Management and Distribution Center made their restrooms available to us. A group toured the building after supper, led by project manager Chris Skiba. It is going to be a tremendous asset to the department.
