AAE Associate Professor Inseok Hwang and 3 Students Have Papers Selected for National Conference

Three AAE graduate students have been selected as finalists in the Best Graduate Student Paper Competitions at the AIAA 2016 SciTech. Sangjin Lee, David Kun, and Jayaprakash Suraj Nandiganahalli are all students of associate professor Inseok Hwang.

Lee is one of six finalists in the 2016 AIAA GNC Conference Graduate Student Paper Competition for his paper titled “State-Dependent Adaptive Estimation for Impulsively Maneuvering Spacecraft Tracking.” Kun is also one of six finalists in the same competition for his paper “Nonlinear Adaptive Robust Control with Linear Matrix Inequalities Applied to a Quadrotor.” Dr. Hwang is a co-author on both papers.

Nandiganahalli is one of five finalists in the 2016 AIAA Infotech Student Paper Competition under the "Intelligent Systems" category. His paper is titled “Intent-based Abstraction for Formal Verification of Flight Deck Mode Confusion.” Co-authors include fellow AAE graduate student, Sangjin Lee, as well as Dr. Hwang.

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is the world’s largest technical society dedicated to the global aerospace profession. AIAA SciTech 2016 will bring together 12 aerospace science and technology conferences with more than 2,500 paper presentations on cutting-edge aerospace technical and scientific research and an exposition that will feature the latest in aerospace technology from 50 companies. It is set for January 4-8 in San Diego, CA.
