|History

Industrial Roundtable was first held in 1980 in the Purdue Memorial Union as an event to provide corporate representatives the opportunity to interact with potential employees from the Purdue College of Engineering. Three years later, it grew too large to be held indoors, and it moved to its current location on Memorial Mall. This location is one of Purdue's landmarks and provides ample space for the large number of companies and students that attend every year. The fair has been held there ever since and has grown to its current size of 400+ companies and 16,500 students.

In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Industrial Roundtable transitioned into its first ever virtual fair. In 2021, IR was offered as both an in-person and virtual fair for the first time. This year will be the 44th annual Industrial Roundtable showcasing great intern, co-op, and full-time candidates to excellent opportunities in industry, both virtually and in-person.

The Industrial Roundtable has been awarded Event of the Year by the National Association of Engineering Student Councils (NAESC) multiple times. The job fair is one of the largest events of its kind and has become a standard for other student-run organizations at campuses across the country.
