Dr. Alinda Mashiku is the Conjunction Assessment Risk Analysis (CARA) Program Manager and at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. The CARA program is an agency function that is responsible for providing risk analysis for ~100 un-crewed satellite missions to prevent on-orbit collisions and ensuring the safety of the space environment. In this role, she is responsible for providing programmatic and technical leadership for ground operations elements, interfacing with multiple mission operations centers and providing oversight in various advanced technologies and engineering application areas.

Dr. Mashiku joined NASA in 2013 supporting various missions such as the James-Webb Space Telescope and the OSIRIS-Rex mission as a spacecraft navigation and mission trajectory design engineer. She is a recipient of multiple NASA Awards including the 2020 Engineering and Technology Directorate Excellence in Safety & Quality Assurance Award and a 2020 NASA Mission Engineering and Systems Analysis Division Individual Special Act Award.

Dr. Mashiku is also the Co-Founder and President of The Joule Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that runs STEAM-based workshops for high-school girls in three African countries. Dr. Mashiku obtained her bachelor’s degree Cum Laude in Aerospace Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2007, and then both her master’s and PhD in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University in 2009 and 2013 consecutively.

Dave Green began his career as a Naval officer – teaching nuclear physics in Charleston, SC. Upon leaving active duty, he relocated to Seattle and worked for Boeing Commercial Airplanes as part of Flight Operations Engineering (FLOE) working with airlines around the world. Subsequently, he has served as the aircraft performance team leader and senior flight operations engineer for Gulfstream Aerospace, a manager of aircraft performance engineering for Mitsubishi Aircraft in Nagoya, Japan as well as a director of flight operations for PACE in Dallas, Texas - working closely together with American Airlines to improve operational fuel efficiency.

In 2021, Dave returned to Boeing as a Senior Manager in Flight Deck Engineering and now works closely with airline customers to design and configure the entire airplane configuration, layout and style prior to taking delivery. He currently lives near Everett, WA. Outside of work, Dave has a wife and 2 kids and enjoys traveling the world (spending most of his spare time in the Greek Islands!), running, hiking, kayaking, painting and collecting large scale model airplanes. Dave Green graduated from Purdue University in 2013 with my Master's Degree in AAE from Purdue's distance learning program.

John Gantt is a Safety & Reliability Engineering Technical Specialist with Rolls-Royce North American Technologies, Inc. (“LibertyWorks”). He is also the Safety Lead for LibertyWorks’ Research & Technology programs, and serves as a safety, reliability, and life-cycle cost consultant for Rolls-Royce’s civil, defense and electrical programs world-wide.

His past professional experience includes system safety leadership for several electrical system and gas turbine programs, including propulsion systems for the C-130 Hercules, V-22 Osprey and 787 Dreamliner. John is an ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer and a member of the SAE S-18 Aircraft and System Development and Safety Assessment Committee.

Away from the office, John is the Cubmaster for BSA Cub Scout Pack 264, a BSA STEM Nova Counselor and frequent STEM advisor for Girl Scout Troops. He earned his BS in Aerospace Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology (’07) and a MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics (’13) from Purdue University. John resides with his wife, Christina, and their four children in Greenwood, Indiana.

Timothy Winter, a native of Decorah, Iowa, is a propulsion engineer at SpaceX where he primarily focuses on Raptor transients and ignition. Prior to joining SpaceX, he completed his MSAAE (‘22) at Purdue as a student Prof. Carson Slabaugh researching heterogeneous rotating detonation rocket combustion at Zucrow Labs.

His undergraduate degrees are in mechanical engineering and computer science received in a dual degree engineering program through Butler University and Purdue in Indianapolis. As an undergraduate, Timothy completed 5 internships at companies that include Donaldson Company, John Deere, Rolls-Royce, and SpaceX. In his free time, Timothy is an avid supporter of the arts and is an amateur cellist.
