SEDS Rocket

Updates

The Photon had a launch on November 26th. The rocket separated at Mach 1, which deployed and destroyed the parachute. This caused the booster section to come in ballistic, while the main parachute section drifted about a mile away, landing with enough force to destroy the nosecone.

While it appears as if this launch was a total failure, many things were learned. All of the SEDS members involved gained a lot of experience in high power rocketry, which most of them did not have before. This experience will carry over to other programs, such as the USLI launch and the effort to get many SEDS members certification to fly high power rockets.
